After intensive planning, the electronic interlocking Glasower Damm and the completely rebuilt Berlin outer ring on Glasower Damm could be put into operation at the end of 2021. The main task of GRE German Rail Engineering was the design of the electrical systems. This included the general power supply, the power supply of the electronic interlocking, the point heating as well as the lighting-systems (final design).
Through the reconstruction of the Glasower-Damm-area, the basis for safety-related construction conditions of the Dresdner Bahn was created for the future. This means that those parts of the line that have already been completed can go into operation and can be used for rail traffic, while other parts of the line are still being rebuilt.
The project management of DB Netz AG has explicitly thanked GRE for this great achievement.
