Berlin calling: Dorsch Global at the Business Day of the Ambassadors' Conference at the Federal Foreign Office 2024

The Business Day of the Federal Foreign Office, or BoKoWiTa for short, is the most important meeting of the year between foreign policy and business. Tanja Baur, COO Dorsch Global, took part in the top-class exchange between business and diplomacy at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin on September 10th.

The Federal Foreign Office Business Day (BoKoWiTa) is an integral part of the three-day conference of heads of German missions abroad, formerly known as the Ambassadors' Conference, held at the Federal Foreign Office. Every year, around 1,000 guests from large corporations, SMEs, start-ups and associations discuss current economic and foreign policy developments with the heads of the more than 220 embassies, consulates general and permanent missions of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Among other things, the opportunities and prospects for the German economy abroad are discussed, as well as strategies for support by the Federal Government. This year, the focus was clearly on the question of how the transition to a climate-neutral German economy can be achieved while maintaining competitiveness and prosperity, for which the international coordiation to achieve level playing fields is decisive.
A special highlight this year was the participation of the Indian Foreign Minister Dr. Jaishankar, who attended the Business Day as guest of honor.

As in previous years, Dorsch Global COO Tanja Baur also attended the event. "This meeting is a very good opportunity for one-to-one meetings with German Ambassadors to get to know their view on the developments in the countries as well as the international view on Germany and to discuss topics that are important for us and our companies on site", says Tanja Baur.

In addition to country and topic panels, the BoKoWiTa offers plenty of time for one-on-one meetings with ambassadors and representatives of other companies and organizations.

About the Economy Day 2024
September 10, 2024 was dedicated entirely to foreign trade. A wide range of topics were discussed, from artificial intelligence and the recruitment of skilled workers to the implementation of national climate targets. A particular focus this year is on the competitive advantages of transformation - an area in which the German representations are also building important bridges to support both German investments abroad and foreign companies in Germany.
